Transforming old generation convectors into connected ones to increase comfort and save energy

testimonials

In Europe, the market of convectors represents 20 M households and a total flexibility capacity of 120 GW. Connecting those devices to a smart system and VPP offers numerous benefits to all involved parties.
Unfortunately, only 10% of European convectors are internet-ready today, and each year only 10% of them are replaced by internet-ready models.
This implies a considerable delay in developing the necessary solutions to the energy transition.

Additionally, replacing those convectors pollutes heavily, both while recycling the old devices, and when producing and shipping the new ones. Nevertheless, customers are looking for solutions to improve their comfort while saving energy – and to contribute to the energy transition.

Our Room temperature programming solution provides the ideal solution for CO2 and energy savings, as well as customer satisfaction.

Installed devices

The M-Box is a highly secure router, which connects the end-user’s tiko installation to the tiko datacenter through ethernet or private mobile connection. Using the existing power lines of the customer’s house, it controls the other tiko devices: control devices and connected accessories.

The D-Box is a control device. It is installed on each convector connected to the platform, and allows customers to remotely control their system, enabling temperature-based, room-by-room smart solutions.

A temperature sensor is installed in each room to be made programmable. It measures temperature and humidity every 5 minutes with a 0.1°C resolution. It operates in the ISM band spectrum and communicates with other devices, via an 868MHz radio-frequency signal.
